Shovelling Sand
Shovelling Sand 6th, 2018
Hi everyone Two days ago whilst doing an insane amount of filing for our business (I need to keep on top of it and not let it pile up again), I came across the first draft of “Family Heartbreak.” Printed on double sided A4, a bulldog clip kept all the pages containing my many hand written amendments together. Just reading the first two pages, I was drawn back into the story with the many grammar mistakes and incorrect formation of sentences very apparent. As you may recall it took three drafts before I submitted my manuscript which is currently with an Editor of my Publisher who is reviewing and where necessary amending the same, so we produce its best version before being launched. I can hardly wait but I have to confess I had no idea it took this long. “Love Happiness” is at the initial first draft stage and I am doing my best in writing my quota every day. I have come across a saying which perfectly describes the “first draft” stage. It reads as follows: “When writing a first draft I have to remind myself constantly that I’m only shovelling sand into a box so later I can build castles.” Until next time, and whilst I shovel sand :-), stay happy and healthy Jenny x.
